Probably my favorite Thai spot in oc at the moment. Not your typical American Thai spot as it has tons of options you never see on the menus such as steamed branzino with spicy lime sauce, Khao soil, and other northern Thai specialties (too many unique things to list). Definitely come here ready to explore other things besides pineapple fried rice, pad thai, and pad see ew. The fried enoki mushrooms were great, as were the beef tongue skewers. Khao soil is a must and I liked the dry style. Tried the crab kart most recently and that was awesome as well. The fried chicken was also amazing as well as the steamed branzino, which might be my favorite dish. Can't wait to come back with a large party to try more.

Tried two dishes and they were good while at the restaurant. One dish better than than the fried chicken. Took my leftovers for dinner and one piece of fried chicken had an atrocious, putrid smell, so i had to dock a few stars. Yes, I ate it the same day. The restaurant is quite small and intimate.

My favorite Thai restaurant in OC and well deserved of their Michelin credentials (although it's priced in). It can be on the expensive side for Thai food, but I thought the quality of the food and large portions alleviated the cost. The food was superb and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients and the bold flavors. Parking is easy to find, but can be a bit of a walk because of the structure of the strip mall. Food/Drink- 5 stars Som Tum Kai Tod- everything about this dish was divine. The chicken was juicy and perfectly fried. The salad had so much flavor. And the sticky rice was perfectly cooked, and stayed warm throughout our menu due to their presentation. Highly recommend it, but expect to get your hands dirty Aom Nure- the soup was a great way to round out the whole meal. Pad Mama- this was really good, and I'm glad I tried it over the more mainstream noodle dishes. Perfect wok hei and plenty of flavor Service- 5 stars Food came out pretty quickly and servers were pretty attentive. It can be a bit crowded on the seating though because of how small the restaurant is Bottom Line Excellent food and you can see the Michelin recognition. Do expect higher price

This place had really good food with vegetarian options. They were able to make the Kai soi options either vegetarian or vegan (asked one waiter if they could do this and they said no but then asked another waitress and she said they can). But they do have multiple vegetarian options on the menu otherwise. Everything was really flavorful! It is a smaller restaurant so depending on the day expect to wait a little (you can also add your name to the yelp waitlist before you get there). Nice decorations and good food overall!

This was my first visit to Chiang Rai and I can say I was not disappointed. Me and my wife drove up from San Diego just to eat here. With the restaurant opening at 11:30 AM on a Saturday, we got there around 10:50 AM but there was no line, so we decided to walk around the shopping plaza. We got back around 11:20 AM and people were already lined up (not too many people though as we were able to get seated right away once the restaurant opened). Once we sat, the servers gave us waters and a couple of minutes to look over the menu. We decided to order the following: - Khao Soi Noodle Soup with Chicken - Pad Thai - Pu Kari - Kao Pad See Ew Mun Nure Everything came out in a timely manner and tasted delicious! I will say the dish that stood out the most was the Kao Pad See Ew Mun Nure, which is essentially Pad See Ew fried rice. I’ve never had fried rice cooked in Pad See Ew sauce before, but now I’ll compare any future fried rice to this. All in all, I would recommend eating at Chiang Rai. I wouldn’t hesitate to make the drive from San Diego just to eat here again.
